Come one come all, for a limited time only, you can get a $5 tarot reading from expert readers of the Salt Lake Pagan Society! This year at the Utah Pride Festival, SLPS will be offering $5 readings for a full 10 card spread and spiritual advice with a reader for as long as you need. Usually free, the high costs of an individual booth at this year’s festival instead of the shared Grass Roots space, drove up the costs of SLPS readings from free to $5.  Don’t have any cash? No worries, you don’t have to hobble down to the ATM, SLPS accepts all major credit cards with the Square reader, so we have you covered! Find our booth on the festival map. We are located on the loop on the west side of the festival, just look for our sign and Goddess flags. Here are the details

SLPS had a wonderful time doing $5 tarot at the 13th Annual Belly Dance Festival by Thia at the Utah State Fairground on Saturday, March 1, 2014, in North Salt Lake. The festival ran from 10am to 10pm. It included various vendors, belly dance troupes, music, and shows. As the day went on, the more well know and advanced troupes performed, leading up to the grand performance at 10pm. SLPS though, after nine hours of tarot and forty readings, dancing, and music, packed up and headed to dinner at the Rio Grand at 8pm for the cilantro chicken!

SLPS had a great time helping the new Utah Valley University Pagan Association get on its feet. President Daniel Cureton read tarot at the club rush on Thursday, September 11, 2013. Sitting with the interfaith section and next to the ROTC, many soldiers came for readings, as well as the regular students at the rush. President Sergey Khrushchev was pleased with the amount of attention the free tarot drew, as it helped get the word out that UVUPA is up and going!

The traditional circle was cast and the chant We All Come From the Goddess by Lindie Lila on her ablum Return Of The Goddess: Sacred Chants For Women. What a busy weekend! SLPS Participated in the Utah Pride Festival events on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Things kicked off with the Utah Pride Interfaith Coalition‘s Interfaith Service for healing on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 7pm. The service was one of helping people to gain peace and understand with the divine. The Theme “Sacred Embraces Real” emphasized the Utah Pride Festival’s Theme “Gotta Be Real”. Saturday, June 1,2013 Continued the interfaith with the interfaith Rally and March from First United Methodist Church in downtown Salt Lake City on 200 E 200 S to the Festival at 200 E and 400 S. Along the way, the march joined up with the Transgender March and the Dyke March.

After the march, SLPS opened the tent for business with Free Tarot Readings. Special mermaid readings were available from MerQueen Lei Loni Tilley, Founder and Queen of the Mermaids of the Great Salt Lake. Witch’s Runes were also being read by Azetta, Seedling of the Blue Dragon. President Muad’Dib used his Deviant Moon Tarot, Piggy had the Rider-Waite, Lunar Oak Spirit had the Shamanic Tarot, and Woman Between the Wolves was on the Robin Wood Tarot.

Sunday, June 2, 2013 brought the Utah Pride Festival Parade at 10 am. SLPS marched in robes and hates with the Utah Pride Interfaith section. After the exhausting march down 200 S, SLPS returned and did more free readings for people at the festival. It is estimated that 300 people stopped by the booth and had their cards, cartouche or runes read. What a great way to give service to the LGBT community! SLPS is excited to return next year for a fourth year!

On March 23, 2013, SLPS read tarot for free for the students at the Rock the U Marathon for Cancer Awareness. Daniel Cureton, April Love, and Lauren Holman brought their tarot decks for a few hours, and over the load music in the Union Ballroom at the Student Union Building at the University of Utah, read the card for about 30 people. SLPS enjoys this type of service, as it’s free for the students, gives everyone practice, and allows them to make more connections with people without considering money. Check out the pics below!

Held every spring at the Utah State Fair Grounds, it’s a full day of dance, shows, vendors, food, and great music. As the evening goes on, the music get’s louder, since the better troupes and shows wait to dance in the evening. SLPS stayed till around 8pm before heading out. Many folks received spiritual advice and healing messages from the tarot.

Thanks to all who attend and helped at the booth at this year’s Utah Pride Festival. We had an eventful weekend which included the interfaith service, interfaith march, Sunday’s parade and free tarot readings at the booth! We had so many people wanting readings that we had to turn folks away when the gates closed. Wait time was over an hour! But we feel grateful being able to help and bring solace, validation and guidance to those seeking answers. Those of us that marched in the parade could feel the wealth of gratitude washing over us as we were cheered on and thanked for being the only Pagan representation at the parade and festival! We even had pagans from Logan join us in the middle of the march! All in all it was a success and UUPS can’t wait for next year! Check out the photos below!

Thanks to all who came and helped out at the booth at this years Salt Lake Pagan Pride Day. This year’s was hosted by Crone’s Hollow on Main street on September 10, 2011 from 9am-6pm. The smaller space was unable to allow for all the vendors that usually would have came. UUPS gave away lots of information, met new people, discussed why we’re here and even had a few people sign up! Live rock music provided by Lady of the Lake set the scene as the sun rose high in the sky before we were all rained out about 4:00 pm. As a bronze sponsor of Pagan Pride Day in Salt Lake City, UUPS was happy to attend, renew friendships, relationships and provide the support and inclusive of the pagan community in the Salt Lake Valley. Till next year!
