Thanks to everyone who came and participated in the Imbolc ceremony on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Dancing Cranes Imports at 6pm. SLPS helped kick off the 2014 Interfaith Month with Imbolc. Lakshmi stood in since Brigid arrived late. The table was decorated with a handmade table cloth by April Love in the late winter seasonal design. Flowers, cookies, sparkling apple cider, candles and more all decorated the altar. Since the ritual was squeezed into the small time space of an hour, some creative editing was necessary.

After reading Imbolc poetry, there was singing and dancing, cleansing and blessing, all before Brigid appeared. She stepped in for a visit through one of the mediums and gave spiritual advice to everyone through the tarot. Afterwards, everyone came forward to received blessings from her through sacred fire.

The energy was sent out into the universe at the close and the rest was returned to the living Earth.

Thanks to everyone who came and gave honor and thanks to the Goddess Ostara~! UUPS Met on Saturday, March 24, 2012 to honor the Goddess and welcome the Spring. We feel her blessing upon us and are grateful for her guidance. The ritual included poetry,  a guided journeying to meet Ostara, egg divination and thanks giving for all we have received. The journey work was performed by President Cureton who led the members to a grove in trans to see the Germanic Goddess. Tears of joy were cried and messages received. The divination provided a good annual insight to the next year’s of work that people need to focus on.

The feasting had grilled chicken, potato salad, and wine.

Thanks to all who came and made possible Imbolc. We had a great time celebrating the return of the light and the time when the goddess has/ and will be returning to her maiden state. The ritual was lead by Daniel C. and included poetry, aspecting of the Goddess Brigid by April, and a journeying to meet with the Goddess. All in all we received helpful guidance for the coming months. Thanks be to the Goddess! The feast afterwards was full of baked chicken and garlic mashed potatoes! Check out the photos below.

Thanks to all who came and participated in the first Yule celebration and feast by UUPS on Sunday, December 18, 2011.

The Yule altar was decorated with lots of tea light candles, votive candles, quarter candles, wreathes, spruce, holly and other seasonal plants. The God and Goddess statue with them in union (below second) was hauled out for use for this holiday as Yule is about the birthing of the God from the Goddess, his mother, queen, consort, wife and lover.

After generous praise and preparation, the Goddess went into labor right there in the temple and gave birth to the God. He greeted everyone with a loving arms carrying a message for each person to hear. Gifts, hails, praise and gratitude were given to the God this night as all kneeled in acknowledgement of his divine grace and power.

Toasting and praise to other deities ensued before closing. The roars, laughter and praise broke out especially after Baccas invoked with wine! All in all, UUPS had a wonderful time. The feasting was after and everyone ate their fill of holiday delectable!

Till we meet again at the Altar of Life!

All the members of UUPS and a few guests from Salt Lake Pagan Pride Day gathered at the House of Daniel Cureton on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 7pm to celebrate the deities, prepare for the dark times and give thanks for blessings received. The ritual started at sunset and included praise, music, drums, dance, a ritual putting out of the light times fire and the lighting of black candles in semblance of the coming dark period and ruling time of the God. President Cureton took all those present on a path working to the Crone and used pear fruit to help those present think about what they want to do in the coming months of introspection, reflection and darkness. Afterwards was the traditional feasting which included freshly baked bread! All in all it was an excellent feast and celebration! Till next we meet!

On August 6, 2011, UUPS drove up to Logan to attend a wonderful ritual set back 2 miles in Green canyon with USUPA. A small altar, decorated with flowers, fruit, chalices and more was set in the south of a circle lined with rose petals.

Our very own Daniel Cureton played the part of Lugh. The participants entered through the west gate. Each attendant was cleansed with water and purified with air. The circle was closed when everyone was inside and Kassie began the elegant and short ritual to the God and Goddess.

Bread and honey were offered in thanks. All the participants took a piece of bread as the symbol of their harvest and were asked to think about what they were grateful for, what blessings they had received, what service had been given to them and what all of this meant in the larger cycle of their life.  After a moment, each person was allowed to speak allowed their feelings, thoughts and emotions and to throw the bread in the fire as the final act of thanks to the God(s)

With the closing of the ritual brought a feast and fire with the God and Goddess. The food included items such as mead, red beans and rice, pie and dutch oven enchiladas!

As the sun set, the fire added a much appreciated light! Even the fire Gods were seen walking around this night!

UUPS Thanks USUPA for hosting another wonderful ritual. We can’t wait to see you all again!
