The society garden is growing strong! A month and a half of growing and many of the plants have bushed, vined, and stalked. Only a couple were lost, one cucumber, one corn, one pepper plant, and some onions. All in all, not so bad! The loss mainly may be due to the gophers or bad starters.

Peppers are coming in, vines on the watermelons and pumpkins have taken off, lettuce is growing high, squash is bushing, corn stalks are about 2 feet high and already show tassels, and onions are getting thick. The society is blessed with many plants and few pests!

Many thanks are given, hail the Good Earth Mother Gaia, Orisha Oko, St. Francis, and all other spirits and deities who gave SLPS the bountiful harvests it has enjoyed. The crops have come in for the 2nd harvest season of Mabon. There is still more on the vines! Mostly left are the tomatoes, tomatillos, green beans, a few peppers and a cabbage head along with the melon or two still in the patch. The corn is picked. So more harvest yet that will take us in to the final season of Samhain, the last great harvest of the year.

As for now, the Society garden has been remarkable bountiful, thanks to not just the blessings of the gods but those who worked to put it in, maintain it, and the land spirits who watched over it at night. We give thanks!

The society garden has grown remarkable well! The land has been bountiful and fertile. August is expected to bring bountiful harvests, just in time for Lughnasadh, the firs great harvest time of the year.

July has provided much sun and heat for considerable growth. Here is an update as to the state of the garden. Many fruits and vegetables are near ripping and will be ready for pickin in the dogs days of August. Gaia has blessed us this year to grow organically from our own hands and to promote the real Earth working. Getting back to our ancestors of agriculture, the simple joys of growing and feeling the soil in your hands as you care for these creatures. This is the real meaning of Paganism. These shots are from July 2015.
