Each month brings the opportunity for the members of the U of U Pagan Society to gather the drums and candles and welcome back the new moon into their lives! This past Saturday, August 18, 2012, everyone gathered at Muad’Dib’s House to work new moon magic and meditate by a smokeless fire.
The drumming helped those present to trance into a state of higher consciousnesses and do journeyings to other realms to communicate with ancestors, spirits and deity. As the drumming rolled into the night, several members reported seeing ancestors and even the Goddess Isis! The high energy made it difficult for some to want to come back this corporeal realm.. they wanted to stay with the Gods! The Om meditation after the drums helped bring them back from those other blessed states.
The magic concluded with a few cleansing and charging of items as well as a healing spell for a fellow pagan under the weather. The Green Man made a visit and gave messages to each person after they were anointed with the power and blessing of the new moon.

SLPS Members met on July 21, 2012 to honor the dark moon goddess and perform magical rites. This usually includes a meditation fire and drum circle. The act of creating sacred space is always primary, with the drumming and meditation used as focus points for trance work before honoring the Goddess of the New Moon.

Thanks to everyone who attended Junes’ New Moon Ritual/Drum Circle and Fire meditation. As usual ritual started out with magical workings but President Daniel Cureton instituted a new circle design that uses the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram, Qabbalistic Cross and Rose Cross for protection. Arch angels were invoked as well as quarters and even a special circle of faeries attended as those present requested the tossing and blessings of the fae. Shortly after the dust was spread around the circle a large ring of fae poofed into circle, happy, cheering and excited to be with everyone.
Energies ran extremely high this circle. Lots of ancestors were reported being seen by president Cureton while drumming, Callista Dreamwalker and Ryc Pellum (top photo left and inside left) said that children wee heard singing and humming. Even a fire guest was present during the meditation. UUPS is certainly grateful for all astral visitors and ancestors who helped the members set goals and find answers in their lives. The Goddesses blessings were upon everyone and thanks were given by offerings of double stuffed cookies and berry juice!

This past June 9, the member of UUPS had the great chance to meet and perform magic under the moon. A review of the principles of magic, the quarters, will and spell casting was included in this circle. Luna gave freely of her blessings and Ganesh helped everyone accomplish their goals and magic rites. Thanks to all who attended. Till next we meet under mother moon!

Each month brings the waxing full moon. At its peak, magic is performed. This months full moon circle was lead by President Daniel Cureton. President Cureton took the guests through the workings and honoring of the moon. The guests then drew down the energy of the moon to cleanse several items, one of which was a new wand.
Some of the folks who attended needed additional forms of energy work. A fire was lit and energy, goals and ambitions released with the burning of paper. Afterwards, President Cureton divined the future by what he saw in the ashes.
“We always feel so welcome and so uplifted at these rituals. I felt so much better afterward. I really felt I had accomplished what I set out to do this night in my magic” commented Sharon Pellum.
